Our Story

7T Designs wasn’t created in a boardroom. It started with a problem.

Before 7T Designs, we spent years in a completely different world—running a business called Art Thrift Reweavers, specializing in precision reweaving and tailoring repairs for rental tuxedos across the United States. Our work demanded attention to detail, durability, and craftsmanship at a level most people never see.

But everything changed because of a small dog named Sydney.

Sydney, our toy poodle, was having skin issues. Like many poodles, she was prone to irritation and scratching, and we needed a way to protect her when we weren’t home. The options were limited: the cone of shame… or a shirt.

So we did what anyone would do—we went to a pet store and bought one.

Within days, it failed.

The fabric stretched out, lost its shape, and became a safety concern. Loose areas formed where her paws could get caught. It wasn’t designed for a dog—it was just a smaller version of a human shirt.

And that didn’t sit right.

Having sewn for most of our lives, we thought, “How hard could it be to make something better?”

Turns out—it was a lot harder than we thought.

After multiple failed attempts, redesigns, and refinements, we created something different: a shirt built specifically for how dogs move, live, and feel.

What started as a solution for Sydney became something more when we brought her into a local pet shop. The owner immediately recognized the difference and placed our first order.

That was the beginning of 7T Designs.

🧵 Built Different — On Purpose

Every shirt we make starts with raw fabric that we personally inspect, wash, strip, and pre-shrink to ensure consistency and long-term fit.

From there, each piece is hand-dyed—because standard colors were never enough. My wife, Dede, leads the creative direction, developing unique color palettes and patterns you simply won’t find anywhere else.

Once dyed, the fabric is cut using patterns I developed specifically for dogs—not humans.

That difference matters.

Dogs move on a horizontal plane, so we engineered our arm holes to reflect that—shaping them for freedom of movement rather than forcing a round, restrictive design. Every seam is reinforced. Every edge is finished to prevent rolling. Every stress point is bar-tacked for strength.

These are details most people will never notice.

But your dog will feel them.

🐕 Designed for Safety. Refined for Comfort.

Safety is where this started—and it’s still what drives us.

No pet should be at risk because of poorly designed clothing.

But along the way, we discovered something unexpected.

Because of the fabric we chose—a soft, stretch cotton blend—and the way the shirts fit, they create a gentle, consistent “comfort hug.” We first noticed it with Sydney, who has always been a bit high-strung. When she wore her shirt, her anxiety noticeably decreased.

When she doesn’t wear it… it comes back.

We didn’t set out to create that.

But we’re proud that we did.

❤️ Where Function Meets Personality

While I focus on structure, fit, and durability, Dede brings the personality to life—developing the colors, dye patterns, and phrases that make each piece as fun as it is functional.

The result is something rare:

A product that is safe, comfortable, durable—and still undeniably adorable.

Customers tell us the same two things over and over:

“I can’t believe how well this fits.”

“This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen on my dog.”

And the best validation?

The dogs.

We’ve had customers come back months later telling us their pets won’t wear anything else.

🌎 More Than a Product

7T Designs isn’t just about making better pet shirts.

We want to raise the standard.

We believe pet owners deserve better—and pets deserve clothing that is thoughtfully designed, not mass-produced without consideration.

Our goal is to build a community of people who care about quality, safety, and craftsmanship—and to create a place where others who share that passion can contribute their ideas to improve the lives of our fur babies.

🐾 Why We Keep Going

Building this hasn’t been easy.

The hardest part is getting people to see what we’ve created—especially when you’re competing with mass-produced products and limited to face-to-face markets.

But we’ve never been the kind of people who quit.

And as long as there are pets who deserve better…

we’ll keep going.

🐶 Most customers don’t stop at one

Once people find the right fit, they usually grab multiple designs — because they know exactly how it will fit every time.
